Introduction

Terracotta WarriorsThe Terracotta Army also knowm as the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses is one of the world wonders and one of the top attraction in China. It is a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China. Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum is located 2 km east of The Tomb of Qin Shihuang.

There are 3 pits opened to the pubilc with Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses, chariots. They are vary in hight according to their roles, the tallest are the generals. Current estimates there are over 8,000 soldiers, 130 chariots with 520 horses and 150 cavalry horses in these three pits, the majority of the Terracotta Army are still buried. Except the terracotta Army there are also many officials, acrobats, strongmen and musicians terracotta figures in other pits.

In the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum there are also exhibitions featuring artifacts from the pits, allowing a closer look at the intricate workmanship. Outside the gates of the Terracotta Warriors, there is day market selling ubiquitous replica terracotta warriors and postcards, also you can bargin for a good price.

In December 1987, the Tomb of the First Emperor including the Terracotta Army was listed as a World Cultural Heritage Site by the UNESCO.
