Terracotta Warriors is the scenic spot must be visited in Xian. Terracotta Warriors is regarded as one of the symbols in China just as the Forbidden City and the Great Wall. With such high fame and huge scale, Terracotta Warriors attracts large numbers of tourists every year.
Besides Terracotta Warriors, there are many other ancient buildings deserve to visit. Great Mosque is a large, relatively intact and one of the well protected Islam temples which following the Ming and Qing architecture styles in Xian. And it is one of famous China’s four mosques. Great Mosque is located in the Huajuesi lane, northwest of Xian Drum Tower, so it is also known as the Huajue Mosque, which is one of the oldest two major mosques in Xian. The temple was built in the 1st year of Tianbao reign of Tang Dynasty (742 AD). After the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing generations of service protection, Great Mosque came to the current pattern. Great Mosque is a key protected institution of cultural relics in Shaanxi Province. In 1988 it was promoted to third key protected institution of cultural relics of China, and in May 1997 it was awarded the top ten tourist attractions of Xian.
The scale of Great Mosque is large and the layout is rigorous. Pavilions and Halls density properly, which is a traditional Chinese temple architecture and Islamic architecture of the combination. The existing stone temple, plaques, inscriptions and other precious historical relics of the main temple building has front and rear hall, worry floor, Phoenix kiosks, chic style. There are seven stone hall pass with Arabic Persian and Chinese language inscriptions on them. There is also the calligraphy of Mi Fu’s calligrapher Dong Qichang of Song Dynasty and Ming Dynasty. The elegant force of its pen, pen Emotion, fonts, Yun said, called a masterpiece of calligraphy in China. In addition, the temple also has manuscripts collection of “the Koran” and a “Mecca map” of the Qing Dynasty, so there became the main site of Xi’an Muslim religious activities.
Terracotta Warriors and Great Mosque are the two most key attractions in Xian for foreign tourists. And during the tour, tourists could learn more about this old city.
